Traditionally it has been known as the skill of using a specific force in a precise direction, applied to a joint that is subluxated (fixated, “locked up”, or not moving properly).
This adds movement to the joint, helping the joints to gradually regain more normal motion and function. The purpose of this safe and natural procedure is to permit improved spinal function, and open the nervous system flow of signals, and improved health.
There are many ways to adjust and correct the the spine, pelvis and peripheral joints.
1. We use low force, with a specially designed instrument (activator) that delivers a brief and highly-accurate thrust. Some adjusting methods are quick, which we may use our hands, whereas others require a slow, constant or indirect pressure (effective)
2. We also use pelvic blocks, to balance your pelvis and allow the cerebro spinal fluid to flow, creating a calming effect easily while you breathe in and out. We may also work on the jaw.
When a client first experiences a chiropractic adjustment, in some cases they may experience a healing crisis.
